The Greene County Ram softball team won its state softball tournament quarterfinal game against the Crestwood (Cresco) Cadets 5-0 Tuesday. For a recap of the game, visit the Sports tab.
The Rams will play the Benton Community Bobcats Thursday at 1 pm on the BVU Field at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge.
The Bobcats are 41-3 after their quarterfinal win over Mount Vernon Tuesday. Game score was 5-2. For the season, 24 of the Bobcats’ wins have been shutouts. The Bobcats’ lead pitcher, junior Amber Fiser, has an earned run average of 0.05 and leads all pitchers in Class 3A in that stat. Benton junior Alyssa Wiebel is third in 3A in batting averages with a .595 average.
